EmpowHER Education aligns seamlessly with Dior's Five Pillars, embodying the principles of Self-care & Self-awareness, Autonomy, Creativity, Inclusion and Sustainability. 


Pillar 1 | Self-Care and Awareness

The emphasis on self-revelation, cultivating singularity, and connecting body and mind resonates with Dior's commitment to self-care and awareness. By encouraging individuals to explore and embrace their unique identities while fostering a deeper understanding of the intricate relationship between their physical and mental states, EmpowHER empowers participants to prioritize their self-care journey. Through this initiative, individuals are inspired to nurture their overall well-being, fostering a sense of empowerment and fulfillment in their lives.

Pillar 2 | Autonomy

Autonomy, as a necessary foundation for self-affirmation and accountability, aligns with the proposal's focus on empowering individuals to take charge of their own learning and growth. By fostering an environment where individuals have the autonomy to shape their educational experiences, we enable them to explore diverse knowledge domains, synthesize information, and discover their unique capabilities. Through this autonomy-centric approach, EmpowHER Education aims to instill a sense of confidence, purpose, and accountability, ensuring that each graduate emerges as a self-directed, empowered leader in their respective fields.


Pillar 3 | Creativity

Creativity, a core value for Dior, is reflected in the EmpowHER initiative's encouragement of innovative and visionary solutions, fostering and presenting an integral, interconnected and transformative education of the whole being, creating empowered thinkers with a sense of purpose. In transdisciplinarity, many perspectives on issues are sought (from the disciplines and beyond) and the questions and issues themselves are re-framed as the disciplines re-align and negotiate how to serve a bigger cause. All of these approaches to knowledge explore different realms of the possible, each approach presupposing differences in intentionality, agency and cooperation. 


Pillar 4 | Inclusion

The proposal's commitment to inclusion echoes Dior's values of offering everyone a respected place in society, transforming knowledge differences into a source of richness. Transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary learning does not take place simply in institutions but often at the porous boundaries between worlds (students, academics, industry, government and community partners and professional staff), as well as other participants in enquiry and learning well beyond. By including students as our target audience, it enables a powerful mutual learning to take place. 


Pillar 5 | Sustainability

Sustainability, central to both Dior and EmpowHER, underscores the importance of rethinking and recreating the world for a more diverse and resilient future. Ultimately, transdisciplinary learning and research present opportunities to travel between, across and beyond every domain of knowledge, as well as strengthening an inner knowledge, and building ontological capacity to meet the challenges of our time. Quite apart from the global challenges and the importance of tackling them from multiple perspectives, transdisciplinarity serves the double function of opening up opportunities for research that are yet to be unveiled.

    Specifically focusing on Goals 4, 5, 8, 9, and 10, these goals encompass quality education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and reduced inequalities, respectively.
